Trump did not restrain himself and answered the ex-director of the FBI, James Komi on Twitter
President Trump broke his silence in Twitter early Friday, accusing the FBI ex-director James Komi of leaking the details of their conversation.
“Despite many false statements and lies, complete and absolute acquittal... And wow, Comey turned out to be the source of an information leak!” Trump wrote early on Friday, June 9, in his Twitter.
On Thursday, in the Senate Committee, Komi said that he considered the Russian investigation to be the reason for his dismissal. He also accused the White House of lying about the details of his dismissal. He admitted that he himself gave information about negotiations with Trump.
While Trump's lawyer published a statement defending Trump and attacked Komi for the leak, and Trump's son Donald Jr. tweeted throughout the hearing, the president himself was silent on the matter all day.
“The words about Flynn are complete nonsense, if in context - two men were talking about a third man, whom both know well. I take it to mean, “I hope nothing happens, but do your job.” Very far from any kind of coercion or influence and, of course, obstacles! Having known my father for 39 years, when he 'orders or tells' you to do something, there is no ambiguity, you will know exactly what it means,” Trump Jr. wrote.
FBI investigates links between Trump's colleagues during last year’s campaign and Russians who tried to influence the election by hacking the Democrats website. Komi said that Trump asked him to abandon the investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn, whom Trump dismissed because he refused to disclose information about his contacts with foreign governments.
