US Senator Bernie Sanders during the race for the nomination of a US presidential candidate from the Democratic Party won in caucuses in three states: in Washington, Alaska and Hawaii, reports CNN.

His results in Washington and Alaska exceeded 70% of the votes (72,1% and 78,7%, respectively), in Hawaii he won the 69,8% of the votes.

Washington State is one of the most important during the pre-voting. 101 is the voice of the delegates in this state. In Hawaii and Alaska - played out by the 25 and 16 delegates, respectively.

Despite victories in caucuses in these three states, in the overall standings, Bernie Sanders is behind the race leader, former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton

Heading into the March 26 caucuses, Clinton had secured 1 delegates to Sanders' 223. Counting superdelegates who have already announced which candidates they will support, Clinton has 920 votes to Sanders' 1692.

Candidates for nomination still have more states ahead: California, Pennsylvania and New York. According to opinion polls, Hillary Clinton is still leading in these states.

In the Republican Party on Saturday, there were no primary elections. The billionaire Donald Trump, who enlisted the support of 739 delegates, is leading the race for the nomination from the party. His closest competitor, Senator Ted Cruz, has the support of 465 delegates.
