The United States and Ukraine will create a joint rocket

Ukraine, together with companies from the United States, intends to create a launch vehicle without Russia's participation. About this on Thursday, 3 September, said the chairman of the State Space Agency of Ukraine Lyubomir Sabadosh.

“Our visit today and discussion with representatives of American business allow us to say that we are capable of jointly creating launch vehicles that can take on the functions of flying a person to an orbital station. An example is the participation of Ukrainian companies in the creation of the Antares launch vehicle, which will deliver, first of all, the necessary payloads to the orbital station, and then, possibly, carry out the mission of delivering a manned crew,” said Szabados, who is visiting USA.

According to him, Ukraine cannot create a launch vehicle independently, due to the high cost of the project.

“Ukraine will not be able to independently complete a closed cycle for the production of a launch vehicle; it is very expensive. We understand that at a time when we have difficulties in the economy, investing only in the space industry will not be entirely correct. But the government is paying special attention to developing space cooperation with international partners,” Szabados added.

It was previously reported that Russia is losing Rokot missiles due to the lack of Ukrainian parts. In addition, the export of Russian combat aircraft is now under threat due to a lack of supplies from Ukraine.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on Thursday, 3 September, met with Senator Jack Reed, co-chairman of the US Senate Armed Services Committee, during which he discussed the situation in the Donbas and United States assistance in restoring the defense capability of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
