Sheriff accidentally saved a baby who was buried alive
The 5 month-old baby, buried under piles of garbage in Montana, miraculously survived nine hours later.
Police received a message about a man’s strange behavior around Lolo Hot Springs, Montana. The call arrived around 8 hours of the evening. When the police arrived in the area, there were a few more reports that this man was threatening people with weapons.
32-year-old Francis Crowley managed to escape by the time police arrived at the Missoula County Sheriff's office.
When they managed to find the criminal, he was intoxicated and said that somewhere in the grief of garbage lies a child.
Several police departments, including local officers, as well as members of the Forest Service in the United States united to find a child.
“After 6 hours of searching, the officer heard the faint cry of a child,” police said in a statement. “He followed the sound and discovered that the child was alive, under a mountain of debris.”
Police said the baby was wet and dirty. He was taken to a local hospital, where doctors confirmed that he was not at risk.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Brenda Bassett said in a statement that the child had escaped with only minor scratches and bruises.
"At the sheriff's office, we call it all a miracle," police said.
The child was transferred to the State Department for Children and Families.
Crowley is in custody. He was awarded a bail of $ 50 000 and accused of exposing the child to a deadly threat. The sheriff’s statement said additional charges would follow later.
