Woman's portrait appears on 10 dollars

The US Treasury announced the release of a new 10 dollar bill, which will feature a portrait of a woman.

The new bill will enter into circulation in 2020, the centenary of the 19 th amendment to the US Constitution, which gave American women the right to vote.

What kind of woman will appear on the banknote is not yet known. To this end, the agency plans to conduct a survey of public opinion.

Currently, the bill depicts a portrait of Alexander Hamilton, the hero of the War of Independence of the United States and the first finance minister of the country.

Images of women have previously appeared on banknotes and coins in the United States, but this money was not in wide circulation.
