Obama has published a declaration of income

The joint income of US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle is estimated to range from 1,9 to 6,9 million, follows from the published income statement.

Most of the family's wealth is in Treasury securities, ranging from $1 million to $5 million. Other assets are in a pension fund, in term deposits, and in retirement savings accounts. Also, about $130 thousand came from the sale of Barack Obama's books.

As follows from the declaration, the family owns a house in Chicago, which is estimated at between 500 thousand and 1 million dollars. The president and his wife paid over 93 thousand dollars of federal tax last year.

In 2013, Obama's income was estimated at between 1,8 and 7 million dollars.

By law, US officials are required to declare each year the size of their assets and liabilities. However, they can indicate not a specific amount, but the upper and lower limits, which makes it difficult to determine the exact amount.

The Russian president published his declaration in April: for 2014 a year he earned 7,65 million rubles (approximately 153 thousand dollars).
