Immigrant arrested for false information in a statement on the green card

This week, a Cuban citizen was charged with providing false information in a green card application.

Cuba’s 73-year-old Saul Santos Ferro, who lives in Miami, Florida, was arrested and accused of lying in documents, because he did not indicate in the application for the green card that he was a member of the Cuban State Security Department. News americas now.

Ferro indicated in the documents that he never served or was not a member of the police unit in Cuba, which is not true; moreover, he falsely stated that he had never been involved in work in situations involving the detention of persons.

In fact, according to investigators, Santos served as a high-ranking official in Cuba's Department of State Security (Seguridad del Estado - DSE) for decades.

In addition, Santos is accused of falsely claiming that he never deceived or intentionally misrepresented the facts in order to obtain a visa or other documents authorizing entry into the United States.

Ferro is under house arrest, his movement is tracked by a GPS bracelet.
