France has decided when and how much it will pay for the non-delivery of Mistrals

Negotiations between Russia and France on the Mistrals have been completed, the terms and amount that Paris will pay Moscow have been determined, the contract will be officially terminated in the very near future. Vladimir Kozhin, Assistant to the Russian President for Military-Technical Cooperation, announced this on Thursday.

“The negotiations have already been completed, everything has already been determined - both terms and amounts. I hope that an agreement to terminate the contract will be signed in the very near future, and then the amount that France will pay us will be announced,” Kozhin said.

Earlier, French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian reported that France would not supply Mistrals to Russia, and this would cost the country approximately 1,2 billion euros.

Under the terms of the contract for the construction of two Mistral-type ships worth 1,2 billion euros concluded in June 2011, the first helicopter carrier (Vladivostok) France had to transfer to Russia in November 2014, the deadline for the delivery of Sevastopol is November 1 .
