U.S. Embassy releases registration dates for DV-2022 green card lottery

The text on the embassy's page reminds us that the Diversity Visa program, approved by the US Congress, offers up to 55 visas each year, and is designed to randomly select individuals who meet the criteria for participation in countries with low US immigration rates.

Each fiscal year, a limited number of visas are available through the Diversity Visa program, commonly known as the Green Card Lottery or DV Lottery.

The online registration period for the Diversity Visa Program 2022 (DV-2022), according to the embassy, ​​will begin on October 1, 2020 at 12:00 PM ET (EST) and will end on November 3, 2020 at 12:00 PM ET ...

If you have plans to participate in the DV program, be sure to carefully read the requirements for this type of visa and DV program instructionsto see if you are eligible to apply. Applicants may be disqualified for filling out the application form incorrectly or for submitting more than one application on their behalf, the page says.

Those interested in participating in the Diversity Visa program must submit their electronic applications during the registration period using the registration form at program website... The embassy reminds that participation in the program is free, and if some intermediary site asks you for money for registration, this is a scam. However, successful applicants will be required to pay the visa application fee at the US Embassy when attending a consular interview.
