Californians with humor reacted to what is happening outside the windows of their houses and cars and daily publish a lot of messages and photos of the solar extreme, writes Buzz Feed. I just want, the publication notes, to raise my eyes to the sun and ask: “Who offended you?!”

But the matter was not limited to discomfort. A “monstrous heat dome” blanketed the southern part of the state, leaving tens of thousands of residents without power for several days. On Friday, the weather in many parts of California broke records. The University of California noted that the temperature of 111 (44) degrees is the highest since 1939, when the mark reached 109 (about 43). Riverside was the “lucky one” - here the record high thermometer reached 118 (48) degrees.
