North Korea says nuclear war could break out at any time

North Korea warned that a nuclear war "could start at any time," as the United States and South Korea launched one of the largest joint naval exercises from both sides of the peninsula. He writes about it Bloomberg.

"As long as no one is involved in US military action against the DPRK, we do not intend to use or threaten to use nuclear weapons against any other country," Kim said, referring to his country's official name.

Trump said military force is an option to stop Kim and rule out negotiations with Pyongyang. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said Sunday that the president is on the side of diplomatic progress with North Korea "until the first bomb drops."

In recent weeks, a war of words has broken out between the two leaders, and Trump told the UN that the United States will “completely destroy” North Korea if it attacks. Kim replied that he would take "the toughest countermeasures in history."

South Korean military officials are preparing for another possible missile launch from North Korea this week to counter US and South Korean exercises, which include an American aircraft carrier and a nuclear submarine. The Chinese Communist Party will also begin its most important political meeting on Wednesday.

Russia on Monday urged the United States to reduce military exercises near North Korea, inviting both sides to retreat and reduce tensions.

This year, the UN has tightened sanctions on North Korea, trying to reduce the cash flows that help support the nuclear program.
