Reuters found eyewitnesses of the launch of a missile downed Boeing in Ukraine
Residents of the village of Chervony Zhovten in the Donetsk region told Reuters that they saw a rocket that hit a passenger Boeing on July 17 on July 2014.
58-year-old Peter Fedotov said that during the collapse of the "Boeing" was with his mother in the garden. He heard a crash from which he crouched on the ground, then he saw a rocket in the sky, and then a plane falling apart in the air.
According to Reuters, Fedotov said on camera that the rocket was launched from the territory controlled by the Ukrainian military. However, later, when the camera was turned off, he admitted that the rocket had been launched from the territory of the separatists. According to him, agricultural workers showed him a field a mile and a half from the village of Chervony Zhovten, where an anti-aircraft battery allegedly stood.
Three more local residents also told the agency about the launch of the rocket - Olga Krasilnikova, Valentina Kovalenko and her daughter Anastasia Kovalenko. They claim to have seen a rocket and an airplane blast in the sky.
A former fighter of the separatist battalion "Vostok", who identified himself as Igor, confirmed to Reuters that on July Xenum the Buk anti-aircraft battery was standing near the village of Chervony Zhovten. According to him, half an hour before the crash of the Boeing, a rocket was fired at a Ukrainian attack aircraft - its pilots ejected. He did not say anything about launching the Boeing rocket.
