Israel will add every Jew from Ukraine 4000 dollars

On Sunday, 15 February, the Government of Israel adopted a program of emergency measures to support the repatriation and improve the integration process of new citizens arriving from Ukraine, France and Belgium. The program received additional government funding in the amount of about 180 million shekels (47 million dollars).

The day before, on Thursday, in the process of preparing items of the government program, Minister Landwehr insisted on including repatriates from Ukraine on the list, where the situation still remains tense. Thus, immigrants from Ukraine who moved to Israel from March 1, 2015 to December 31, 2016, according to the new amendments, will receive an additional cash “gift” in the amount of up to 15 thousand shekels (4 thousand dollars) per family, not including what they were originally entitled to “ absorption basket."

The Israeli Ministry of Absorption, announcing the additional monetary gift, notes: “The project today is designed to receive repatriates from three countries - France, Ukraine and Belgium, where Jews are in real danger.” At the same time, Minister Sofa Landwehr is convinced that the emergency program developed by the Ministry of Absorption should be extended to repatriates from all countries.

As reported "Daily Forum“, in 2014, 5.138 repatriates from Ukraine arrived in Israel, which is almost three times the number of repatriates who came from this country in 2013. Thus, in 2014, 498 people arrived from Kyiv, 498 from Odessa, 545 from Donetsk, 318 from Kharkov, and 283 repatriates from Dnepropetrovsk.

In Israel, new repatriates who arrived in 2014 from Ukraine preferred the following cities of residence: 666 people settled in Haifa, 394 in Netanya, 327 in Bat Yam, 299 in Ashdod and 182 people in Jerusalem.
