100-year-old Vermont resident spent $ 13 thousand on a low-income party
100-year-old resident of Burlington, Vermont, Anthony Pomerley organized a Christmas party for the residents of the city.
The holiday, in which around 450 people had fun and enjoyed free food, cost him thousands of dollars in 13, writes Time.
A man organizes such events every year during the last years 37. He admitted that he was not against spending his money to arrange a holiday for people who were less fortunate in life than he was. His idea was inspired by his own difficult childhood.
The first 37 party years ago, Pomerley was helped to organize by the acting senator Bernie Sanders, who at that time served as mayor of Burlington.
According to the calculations of the 100-year-old benefactor, over the 37 years of his party, they helped feed about 40 thousands of needy children and adults.
