Zika virus infection zone in Miami Beach has tripled
The Zika virus infection area in Miami Beach has increased 3 times and currently covers two thirds of the city. This was announced late September on Friday by 16 September by Governor Rick Scott. Maiami herald.
Currently, the active transmission zone of the virus extends from 8-th to 63-th street, which is 116,5 square kilometers.
The Florida Department of Health counted 5 people who had all the symptoms of the virus for a month. Three of them were newly infected in the extended danger zone. All 5 did not leave the city.
On Friday, Scott authorized additional $ 10 million to be allocated to government funds to fight the virus. This money will go to fight mosquitoes and increase the capacity of laboratories.
In June, Scott used his emergency powers to authorize $26,2 million to fight the Zika virus. He met with top Republicans this week to push for funding from Washington, but said Friday that Florida "can no longer wait for activity at the federal level."

The decision on spraying caused some local residents to worry about the effects of the insecticide on the human body. Opinions were divided: some believe that “Frost” is even more dangerous than Ziki, others are too scared by the possibility of getting a virus.
The government claims that a low concentration of the toxic drug used in Naledi will not cause any harm to the body. Be that as it may, most Miami residents were in favor of spraying Naledi.
