Snake made a trip from Florida to Hawaii, climbing into the backpack of an air passenger
A small snake was able to make a free, albeit illegal, flight from Florida to Hawaii, climbing into the backpack of an unsuspecting traveler at the airport.
A small, non-venomous snake, identified as a black snake, slipped into the carry-on bag at a man at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida, writes Fox News.
According to the man, he did not know that there was a snake in his backpack until he arrived at his accommodation rented on Maui and found it.

He contacted the Department of Agriculture of Hawaii, and departmental experts took the snake.
Although this snake was only about 3 feet long (90 cm), the black runner can be up to 5 feet (150 cm) in length. They are usually found on the east coast of the United States.
According to the State Department of Land and Natural Resources, transporting such a snake to Hawaii is illegal because it does not have natural predators in this island state and is a threat to wildlife and the environment.
