California residents will be paid $400 in compensation for gasoline: even those who do not have a car

Amid record gas prices, a group of California lawmakers have submitted a $400 compensation proposal to offset the state's high gasoline taxes. The edition told in more detail San francisco gate.

Lawmakers, most of whom were Democrats, have proposed $9 billion of California's $45 billion budget surplus to fund offsets that more than cover a 51-cent-per-gallon gas tax for one full year of weekly fill-ups for a gasoline-powered car with a tank of 15 liters.

The proposal is being filed as an alternative to suspending the gasoline tax, which is the highest in the country. Republicans in the state are in favor of completely abolishing the gasoline tax.
