A resident of Utah will be judged because of a cat sleeping on the lawn in her yard
A woman from Utah faces trial and administrative responsibility for having her cat sleep on a lawn in the courtyard near the house, reports Fox News.
The owner of the cat named Milo, Kate Anderson, who lives in Murray, Utah, said that animal control officers came to her home to inform her that she had been charged with two charges - for "an animal on the street" and "absent animal licenses,” both are Class B misdemeanors and are based on city council ordinances.
Anderson assumes that one of the neighbors has photographed Milo, sleeping on the lawn, and reported this to the Department of Animal Control.
“This cat is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated, and poses no threat to the public,” Anderson said of Milo.

The woman explained that Milo has a special cat door, so he just goes outside when he wants.
Anderson will be judged in connection with violations, but the woman is worried about her pet, because he loves to walk outside and sleep on the front lawn, and the ban on walking on the street could be a trauma for him.
“I don’t think most people think it’s illegal to let your cat outside under any circumstances,” Anderson said.

The city council resolution was adopted in 1963 and prohibits any animal in the city, even if it is located on the property of the owner, to be on the street without a leash, outside a special enclosure or outside the vehicle. Any pet owner who will be “free” can be blamed, as happened with Kate Anderson.
