108-year-old Wisconsin woman defeats coronavirus
Wisconsin woman who defeated COVID-19 is now preparing to celebrate her 109th birthday, writes ABC7.
Ruth Strizewski spent several weeks in isolation fighting the virus, but her family said her symptoms were mild.
She did not require hospitalization, now the woman has fully recovered.
“It’s remarkable that at this age she was able to fight off this terrible virus and is doing well today,” said Ingrid Garrison, activities specialist at Parkview Health Center. “She is gaining strength again and becoming the Ruth we knew.”

Family and loved ones hope her survival story will inspire others who feel hopeless during these challenging times.
“God has a plan and his plan was to get her through this and there is hope and there are loving and caring people in this nursing home,” Garrison said. “All the frontline workers are doing the best they can and rooting for their patients, so to speak.”
Ruth Strizewski will turn 20 on February 109.
