A resident of Florida bequeathed her estate and all the property to 7 cats
Florida woman who died in November left property and inheritance to her seven Persian cats, reports USAToday.
Nancy Sauer of Tampa, Florida, died November 26 at the age of 84. Sauer left a clause in her will that her seven cats should remain on her estate, and each of them would receive an inheritance.
This is not the first time a pet has received owner's money. Designer Karl Lagerfeld left part of his legacy to his beloved cat Choupette upon his death in 2019.

Sauer's friend Jana Alban said that the will states that the estate will not be sold until the last cat dies. The owner was worried that the pets would suffer if they were separated.
According to the Tampa Bay Humane Society, the cats continue to live in the 370-square-foot home. However, despite a clause in the will, a Hillsborough County judge recently decided that the cats should be placed in new homes.

Sherry Silk, executive director of the Tampa Bay Humane Society, said cats shouldn't be left alone in a house this size. Silk said that someone visited the cats several times a day while they lived in a huge house, but the Society has taken care of these cats in their facility for the past month.
“I will personally make sure they end up in the perfect home,” Silk said.
The cats will be available for adoption later this week. The amount of each cat's inheritance is currently determined by a lawyer, but Silk said it would be "substantial" and sufficient to cover the cat's needs forever.
