New Yorker has placed a giant banner on the search for a kidney donor in Times Square
"My name is Mark, I need a kidney - you can help!" These words are written on a giant banner, which is posted in the city center in Times Square.
Three years ago, 53-year-old New Yorker Mark Weiner, whose picture is placed on the banner, suffered from an oncological disease, as a result of which he lost both his kidneys and bladder and was forced to undergo a grueling dialysis procedure three times a week, writes Runyweb.com. He described his problems in detail and illustrated them on his own website.
The friend of Weiner's wife, the president of a federal billboard company, helped organize the billboard in the city center.
Lisa Weiner, Mark's wife, said on her Facebook page that ten people responded to her husband's request. Currently, doctors are checking the compatibility of tissues. The poster will hang in the center of New York until Mark Weiner finds a donor.
