A resident of Florida has committed a new crime a few minutes after his release from prison

34-year-old Florida resident Michael Casey Lewis returned to jail just a few minutes after he was released after serving his previous term.

According to the authorities, a man released from prison in Fort Pierce this week was arrested a few minutes after his release: he opened and robbed someone else’s car in the prison parking, writes Fox News.

Michael Casey Lewis has just been released from the prison of Saint Lucy County after serving time for a major theft. As soon as he was outside the prison gates, the police noticed that he "behaved suspiciously" and pulled the door handles in the cars in the parking lot.

Lewis claimed that he was waiting for his girlfriend, who was supposed to pick him up. But on the pictures taken by the security service, it was shown that the man checked several cars. In one of the cars he climbed.

The deputy sheriff of the county of Saint Lucy, Neil Lettman, said that he had met personally with Lewis and had interrogated him. As a result, the man handed the policeman a paper bag with items stolen from the car: an iPhone 7 worth 1000 dollars, four packs of cigarettes, a lighter, a debit card, a driver's license, and 547 dollars in cash.

“I handcuffed Lewis and escorted him to the detention area,” Lettman said.

Lewis was arrested and put back in jail for burglary, then released a second time on bail of 11 250 dollars. The third time he was not arrested yet.
