President Donald Trump is considering dismissing Deputy National Security Adviser Mira Ricardel because of her conflict with US First Lady Melania Trump, writes "Voice of America".
Reuters reported on the possible dismissal of Ricardel, citing two sources in the White House. A little later, a spokeswoman for Melania Trump confirmed this information.
The first lady, according to sources, told the President about her dissatisfaction with Ricardel’s behavior, which in 2016 had helped Trump in her election campaign. Earlier this year, Trump's national security adviser, John Bolton, appointed Mira Ricardel as his deputy.
According to sources, Melania Trump directly asked the president to dismiss Ricardel. The interlocutors of the agency said that the conflict between the first lady and the White House employee broke out during an African tour of Melania Trump in October.
One source claims that during the trip, Trump and Ricardel "did not have a relationship." According to the Wall Street Journal, one of the conflicts arose because of the seats on the plane. Ricardel, the newspaper writes, attempted to restrict the first lady from using funds from the National Security Council during her trip to Africa.

According to the WSJ, Melania Trump also suspects Ricardel of draining negative information about the first lady and the staff of her staff to the press. She told about her suspicions to her husband, the newspaper writes.

Another source who is aware of how Ricardel has established himself in the White House, said that Bolton’s deputy managed to quarrel with the majority of the staff of the National Security Council. According to another source, Ricardel also displayed a clear antipathy towards Defense Minister Jim Mattis. The interviewee added that Rikardel had good relations only with her boss, John Bolton.
One of the interlocutors of the agency said that the conflict between Ricardel and Melania Trump began more than a month ago. Several attempts to “defuse the situation” have come to nothing.
A spokeswoman for the first lady, Stephanie Grish, confirmed the fact that Melania Trump had asked the president to fire Ricardel.
"She (Ricardel) no longer deserves the honor of serving in the White House, that is the official position of the First Lady's office," Grisham said.
The statement by Grisha is an “unprecedented and unprecedented case,” as NBC News claims. Never in US history has a representative of the first lady called for the dismissal of a member of the National Security Council.
Associated Press recalls that during her African tour Melania Trump was interviewed by ABC News. During the conversation, the first lady said that there were people in the White House who did not deserve the trust of the president. She refused to give names, but noticed that her husband knows these people by name.
The wife of the president clarified that some of these people "are no longer working there." When a journalist asked her if there were “unworthy presidential” employees in the White House, Melania Trump answered in the affirmative.
Mira Ricardel (Radjelovic) was born in the USA into a family of Croatian immigrants. She knows the Croatian language perfectly, which means she could most likely communicate with the first lady in her native language - Croatian (Serbo-Croatian) and Slovenian languages are part of the same language group, and Serbo-Croatian was compulsory for study in schools of the former Yugoslavia . Melania Trump was born in 1970 in Slovenia. At that moment, this country was part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
Ricardel worked from 1986 to 2005 for a year in various positions in several federal departments and in the government of George W. Bush. From 2006 to 2015, she served as Boeing's vice president of defense and space systems and international business development.
