The wife of the former head of Interpol reported threats received by her

On September 25, the former head of Interpol wrote to his wife Grace Man: “Wait for my call,” and in a few minutes sent her an emoji with a picture of a knife. Grace tried to call him, but Meng Hongwei's phone did not answer.

A week later, when she was with her children at her home in Lyon, she received a call on her mobile phone. There, in China, a male voice told her: “You listen, but you do not speak. We will come for you in two groups, only for you in two working groups. We know where you are, writes Rtvi.

According to Grace, the man mentioned that he was involved in the security service of China. When she tried to ask a question, he repeated to her: "You do not speak, you only listen to me." Now the French police took Grace Man under protection.

The disappearance of the 64-year-old president of Interpol became known from his wife at the end of September. She told the police that her husband had not been in touch since September 29 had gone from France to China in September. Hongwei’s wife lives in the French city of Lyon, where the headquarters of the International Criminal Police Organization is located.

October 7 The International Criminal Police Organization received a statement from Hongwei that he is resigning. 8 October The Ministry of Public Security of China reported that an investigation into the former Interpol President was being conducted due to suspicion of accepting bribes. Until now, the exact location of Hongwei is unknown.

Grace reported that the charge of bribery is only a pretext to "make him disappear for a long time." She also added that “he is not capable of this,” and, to confirm this, she is ready to publicly show bank accounts.

Grace Meng is the pseudonym of the Meng Hongwei spouse. She refused to give her real name because of concerns about the safety of her family in China.

Mei Hongwei became Interpol President in 2016. Prior to that, he was Deputy Minister of Public Security in China. Until Hongwei, from 2012 to 2016, Mireille Balestrasi held the presidency of the International Criminal Police Organization. She was the first woman to lead this organization.
