Southern California Heat: Forest Fire Risks Every Hour
The heatwave covering some parts of Southern California will continue until at least Thursday evening, greatly increasing the risk of forest fires.
It is expected that the air temperature in the region will reach 95-105 degrees Fahrenheit (35-41 Celsius) with very low humidity, which is almost ideal for the development of forest fires, writes LA Times.
Moreover, in coastal areas the air temperature will be significantly lower, with maximums in the region of 75 degrees Fahrenheit (24 Celsius).
Hot weather has already led to several fires. A small fire broke out in the morning of August 14 on the Hollywood Hills near Astral Drive.
On August 13, firefighters fought small fires in the Antelope Valley and in the hills near the Pacific Palisades. Fortunately, they were able to quickly take control of them. Fire near the Pacific Palisades broke out near Calle de Palermo, burned about five acres.

Officials warn that record highs are also possible this week in parts of Northern California.
The temperature from Redding to Stockton and in some other parts of the Central Valley will exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 Celsius).
It is expected that the heat wave will begin to subside by Friday, and a slightly lower temperature will be established at the weekend.
Recall that in 2017 and 2018, large-scale forest fires raged in California, one of them even destroyed the whole cityby killing dozens of people.
