The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky for the first time as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine visited the front lines in the Donbas.
The head of state arrived at the front, wearing a bullet-proof helmet and vest over a business suit, according to photos on his the official website.
During the visit, which was not announced in advance, Zelensky met with the Ukrainian military in the Stanitsa Luhansk and in the town of Happiness in the Luhansk region.
Zelensky discussed with soldiers the living conditions, the quality of food, the provision of equipment, housing conditions and a social package, as well as staffing units.
"Conditions for the military, protecting Ukraine, should be normal," said Zelensky.
In addition, the President heard a report from the commander of the operation of the joint forces, Lieutenant General Alexander Sirsky, on the situation in the area of military operations in the Donbas.
