Tomorrow (August 4) you can visit US national parks for free
August 4 is the day of free entry to all US national parks, which usually charge an entrance fee, and a considerable one, writes CNN.

This free day is dedicated to the celebration The Great American Outdoors Act.
What will be free
All entrance fees. This includes not only well-known national parks such as Yellowstone and Yosemite, but also all other types of sites managed by the National Park Service (NPS):
- National battlefields such as Antietam in maryland.
- National Historic Sites such as Thomas Edison National Historical Park in new jersey.
- national monuments such as Devils Tower in Wyoming.
- National sea coasts such as an island Assateague in Virginia and Maryland.
- National reserves such as National Monument and Preserve Craters of the Moon in Idaho.

Either way, most NPS-run places are free all year long. Only 108 charge a fee. And as you may have guessed, the “star” parks ask for an entrance fee. Arch mouldings in Utah Rocky Mountain in Colorado and Shenandoah in Virginia.
But they're all free this Thursday, August 4th.
There is one catch. "Free day admission fee waivers do not apply to amenities fees or fees for camping, boating, transportation, or specialty tours," the NPS said in a statement.

If you miss this free day, there will be two more opportunities to visit national parks for free in 2022: September 24 and November 11 (Veterans Day).
