Slaughtered the victim and cut out the heart: how to become members of the gang MS-13
Over 20, gangsters and MS-13 assistants brought federal charges of racketeering and murder in Southern California. One of the victims dismembered and cut out the heart.
The grand jury's 78-page indictment describes a frightening picture of the criminal activity of Mary Salvatruci, or MS-13, in the Los Angeles area, where the gang has been present since the 1980's (time of foundation).
The indictment against the 22 man states that they smuggled drugs across state lines, defended other gang members from law enforcement, and extorted money from local business owners.

Nineteen of the 22 defendants are in the country illegally and entered the country within the last four years. In addition, many of the victims are recent immigrants.
"So as you can see, they are preying on their communities," said Nick Hanna, U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California
President Donald Trump often spoke about the destructiveness of MS-13 and its connection to illegal immigration.
Horrific killings
Prosecutors waited for the arrest of all the accused before opening the indictment. It alleges that the 16 defendants participated in the killings. The arrests were made by a task force on violent gangs in Los Angeles, which includes local law enforcement officers and FBI agents.
The prosecutor pays attention to the cruelty of the murder. In one of them, several MS-13 members brutally murdered a member of a rival gang, who reportedly messed up MS-13 graffiti.

Six alleged killers took the victim to the Angeles National Forest. They "hacked him to death with a machete ... and one of the defendants cut out his heart and then threw his body parts into a canyon," the prosecutor said.
Hannah said that those who want to join a gang must kill someone before they can join the gang.
Of the 22 defendants in the indictment, 21 are charged with racketeering—being part of an organized group engaged in illegal activities.
The prosecutors did not say if they were planning to seek the death penalty for the 16 people mentioned in the seven murder charges.
