Stale strawberries can be revived: a simple life hack conquered social networks

The woman told how she revived her "sad" basket of strawberries. She made the berries fresh again with one simple trick.

Hayley Sheikh from the US said there is no need to throw away strawberries that have gone a little bad. Instead, she recommends placing the berries in a bowl of cold water and ice for one hour and they'll be as good as new.

Hailey forgot about the box of strawberries she had in her fridge, but after she tried this hack, she and her kids ate the whole box.

“I hate throwing away food, especially foods like berries, which can be expensive!” she captioned the video posted on Instagram.

“If your strawberries look spoiled, use this simple trick to freshen up your strawberries and extend their shelf life!” she wrote.

“Strawberries will be like new. And it tastes great too. Try it!” said Hailey.

However, Hayley warns against using this hack if the berries show signs of mold or rot.

Her video has been viewed over 2,8 million times and thousands of people have endorsed this great tip.

“We have strawberries that are about to go bad in the fridge. Great advice!” said one woman.

"You are a lifesaver! I was just about to throw away strawberries when I found this way. Thank you!” wrote another user.

One woman said she freezes strawberries to use later in smoothies.
