Laws that will take effect in 2017 in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut

In 2017, several new laws and regulations come into effect in 3 states - New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Basically, they concern the life and health of residents.

State of New York

1. The minimum wage will rise to $11 an hour in New York City. Keep in mind that there is also a cap of $10,50 per hour if the business has 10 or fewer employees. Long Island and Westchester counties - $10 per hour, other counties in New York state - $9,7.
2. Car repair shops that perform maintenance should now check the light transmittance on your windows to make sure that the tinting is compliant.
3. Insurance companies will pay for naloxone, which is used to relieve the symptoms of a drug overdose.

New York City

1. The Bureau for Standardization of Working Conditions will have a new department that will monitor the working conditions of New Yorkers, who work as nurses and care at home.
2. New standards for laundries: now the owners of the palm trees should provide conditions for clean and dirty things to be kept separate.
3. All public toilets should be gender-neutral and labeled accordingly.

New Jersey
