Laws that will take effect in 2017 in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut
In 2017, several new laws and regulations come into effect in 3 states - New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Basically, they concern the life and health of residents.
State of New York
- The minimum wage will rise to $11 an hour in New York City. Keep in mind that there is also a cap of $10,50 per hour if the business has 10 or fewer employees. Long Island and Westchester counties - $10 per hour, other counties in New York state - $9,7.

New York City
