The bill to abolish the health insurance program, called Obamacare, may be submitted to Congress by representatives of the Republican Party this week (March 6-12).

A member of Congress announced the progress made in the discussions of legislators and representatives of the presidential administration, which were conducted on March 3-5, reports Voice of America.

A member of Congress referred to the progress made during the meetings and telephone conversations that began on Friday, March 3, and continued over the weekend. According to him, Speaker of the House of Representatives Paul Ryan, Minister of Health and Social Services Tom Price, head of the White House Budget Office Mick Malvaney, Trump's adviser on domestic policy Andrew Bremberg and others participated in them.

“The situation is already very good, and although the work on the project continues, we expect the final text to be published earlier this week,” said a Congressional official who wished to be named.

According to him, the expected bill will be "a plan by which Republicans will have a consensus," while he did not voice the details of the document.

After taking office in January 2017, US President Donald Trump called on Republicans who control Congress to immediately repeal the Affordable Care Act, signed by former President Barack Obama, and develop a plan for replacing it. However, Republican legislators had differences over the details.

Democrats believe Republicans could plunge the American health care system into chaos by repealing the law passed in the 2010 year.

Obamacare is popular in many states of the United States, which made it possible for some 20 to get millions of Americans who did not have it, but insurance premiums caused some resentment among the population and politicians.
