Registration for the green card lottery has ended: what next?

Today, November 7, the deadline for accepting applications for participation in the green card lottery (DV-2025). We tell you what awaits the participants next.

For the next six months, lottery participants don’t have to do anything except cross their fingers for luck and wait.

The results will be published 4 May 2024 years. You can check whether you won a green card or not at Electronic Diversity Visa website. You will need to enter your confirmation number that you received when you completed the application form to check the status of your application.

If you have lost your confirmation number, please can be restored, but still better not lose it.

Important: The Department of State does not send notification letters or communicate lottery results to applicants by telephone or email.

US embassies and consulates will not provide a list of people who have won green cards. Checking status on DV website - the only way to find out the results of the green card lottery.

If you won the green card

Lottery winning applicants are advised to fill out the form immediately DS-260to schedule an interview appointment at the appropriate U.S. Embassy or Consulate. In this form you will need to enter all the data about the changes that may occur in your life from the moment you register in the green card lottery until the moment the results are announced (marriage, divorce, birth of a child).

It is important to remember that winning the green card lottery does not guarantee a visa. To obtain a green card to immigrate to the United States, you must meet all eligibility requirements specified in US law.

We remind you: until September 30, 2024 you can also check results lottery DV-2024 (registration was in 2022).
