Jupiter, how we did not see it: new pictures of a giant planet from NASA
The Juno space probe sent back a series of photographs of Jupiter taken at the end of August. Among them is a photograph of the south pole of the largest planet in the solar system. In a statement from NASA сообщаетсяthat from this angle the planet can be seen for the first time.
The US Space Agency pays attention to the numerous vortices of various sizes, rotating both clockwise and in the opposite direction.
NASA also collected a series of photographs taken during the Juneau approach to Jupiter for the shortest distance, and showed the planet’s southern aurora in infrared light.
The Juneau probe went into Jupiter’s orbit in July 2016. The device will study the planet until February 2018, after which it is supposed to burn in its atmosphere.
