Yandex will become the start page in Windows-10
The Russian search engine Yandex will become the home page and integrated search engine in Edge and Internet Explorer browsers on devices running Windows-10 in Russia and several other countries.
According to the press service of Microsoft, the company has agreed with Yandex on strategic cooperation. In addition to Russia, the search engine will be integrated into Microsoft browsers in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Turkey.
In these countries, Yandex will replace Bing, a search engine developed by Microsoft and usually installed in its default browsers.
In response, Yandex should create a special page where it will offer users to install Windows-10. In addition, the company will develop special applications for Microsoft's operating system.
Earlier, Reuters reported that in 2015, Yandex's share in the Russian market of Internet search engines fell to 57% (from 62% two years ago). Now the company is trying to regain its lost ground.
In particular, Yandex has filed a complaint against competitors from Google with the Federal Antimonopoly Service. As a result of its consideration, the FAS found Google guilty of illegally forcing smartphone manufacturers to place their services on the start screen.
Previously “Forum” I toldhow the search engines Yandex and Google are fighting for a sphere of influence.
