I felt that I failed: Michelle Obama told how I lost a child
Former US First Lady Michelle Obama spoke about the miscarriage 20 had suffered years ago and how she felt “lost and lonely” after that.
She shared this in her memoir book “Becoming,” which should be available for sale on November 13, writes “New time ".
“We were trying to get pregnant and it wasn’t going well. We had one positive pregnancy test, which made us both forget our worries and swoon with joy, but a couple of weeks later I had a miscarriage, which caused me physical agony and destroyed the optimism we had felt,” the book says former first lady.
She says that her “sweet, attentive husband” was then in the state legislature, so she was predominantly alone.
“I felt like I failed because I didn’t know how common miscarriages are because we don’t talk about them. We sit in our own pain, thinking that we are “faulty,” Michelle admitted.
According to her, in order to conceive two daughters — Sasha and Malia — she had to undergo an in vitro fertilization procedure.
Recall that in March 2017, former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle signed with the publishing house Penguin Random House contract for the publication of his memoirs, the publishing house will pay more than $65 million for the rights to publish two books (one by Michelle; the other by Barack).
