“Worst nightmare”: couple lost passports and $1800 while on vacation

This story is a reminder of why it is important to double (or better yet, triple) check your documents when traveling. Lewis Mundy and Kimberly Floyd spent approximately 30 minutes in Greece, where they flew to vacation, having booked an expensive hotel for $1800. The young people lost their passports on the plane and were sent home on the next flight without ever leaving the airport.

A 27-year-old couple booked a vacation in a luxurious 5-star Atki Hotel on the Koc. On board the aircraft, both admit, climbed with a full sense of happiness and the upcoming holiday, writes Fox News. But the exciting vacation ended, and not having time to begin. On the plane, they put their passports in their seat pockets, where logs and flight safety instructions usually lie. Young people listened to music and enjoyed life. And before leaving the airliner, they forgot to take out their documents from the offices for magazines.

According to Kimberly, she realized that there were no passports immediately after leaving the plane - about two minutes passed. The man and woman rushed back, begging the crew to allow them to return to the cabin and look for their passports. But they were not allowed back. Instead, one of the staff went to look for the documents themselves and, upon returning, stated that they had found nothing. The couple asked again - but the result was the same.

Without passports, of course, Lewis and Kimberly were denied entry into the country. Half an hour later they were already sitting on another plane, which took them home. The money spent on the failed trip was lost. According to the young people, “nobody cared” about their problem; no one helped them, much less offered compensation. “People looked at us like we were criminals. It was my worst nightmare,” says the girl. They were simply given tickets and sent to board in the opposite direction.

When the man and woman contacted First Choice and TUI in the UK, where they were flying to Greece, a representative responded saying that "after extensive investigation" the passports could not be found. An employee of the tour operator emphasized that passengers are reminded before leaving the plane of the need to check the presence of things and documents, and each traveler must be responsible for this.
