According to the investigation, in the period from 1998 to 1999, Khodorkovsky ordered several of his subordinates to kill Nefteyugansk Mayor Vladimir Petukhov and businessman Yevgeny Rybin. The law enforcement agencies believe that their official activities "contradicted the interests of YUKOS."
“It was decided to organize the murder of Petukhov in connection with his legal demands as the mayor of Nefteyugansk to the Yukos oil company for the return of taxes hidden from the state. The attempt on businessman Yevgeny Rybin was connected with the lawsuits initiated by him against YUKOS to recover damages caused by the illegal activities of this oil company, ”explained Markin.
As the “Forum” wrote, the information that Khodorkovsky is suspected of killing a measure of Nefteyugansk appeared in the summer of 2015 of the year.
