I want to order myself: an American killed a girl after reading an ad on the Internet

In Colorado, a court sentenced 19-year-old Nathalie Bollinger, who disappeared in December 2017 and was soon found dead in the forest. The convict - 23-year-old Joseph Lopez - said that the girl hired him for his own murder, leaving an ad on Craiglist.

According to Lopez, he saw the Bollinger ad "I want to order myself" and responded by naming a fictitious name. The police found a correspondence with him in the phone - there were more than a hundred messages sent on the day of her disappearance. Lopez said that December 28 drove behind Bollinger and on the way to the forest allegedly tried to dissuade her, but in the end, unable to convince, he shot her with a pistol, which she brought with him. The examination found that the girl also had a potentially fatal dose of heroin.

Lopez was arrested in February 2018. Before questioning, he told the police that they probably wanted to talk to him about “the girl he spoke with on Craigslist”. At first he denied involvement in the murder, claiming that he had brought Natalie Bollinger back to her apartment, and she then committed suicide. After reviewing the evidence, he confessed.

Close Natalie Bollinger gave the police different testimony about her mood shortly before her death, wrote The Denver Channel. According to some, she did not hide what she thought about suicide. Others called her a cheerful person with plans for the future.

During the trial, the prosecution stated that Lopez behaved "not as a person, but as a predator," deciding to kill Natalie Bollinger instead of asking for help.

Joseph Lopez, in a deal with the investigation, pleaded guilty to a second-degree murder — such a classification of the crime allowed him to avoid life imprisonment, which would imply a more serious article about first-degree murder. He was sentenced to 48 years in prison.

The family of Natalie Bollinger tried to challenge the decision, demanding the continuation of the process, but the court rejected such a petition. The father of the deceased called the agreement of the prosecution with Lopez "spitting in the face of the family" and "deal with the devil."
