Early In-Person Voting: Which States Have Already Started Choosing a President
With less than three weeks until Election Day, many states have already begun in-person early voting. Polls show Vice President Kamala Harris and 45th President Donald Trump neck and neck, writes USA Today.

The first state in the country to begin voting was Alabama, which sent absentee ballots to eligible voters on Sept. 11. However, the state does not have an in-person early voting option. (That means there is no way for voters to go to a polling station before Election Day to vote in person.)
In the context of the US presidential election, some states provide voters with this option to make the process easier and reduce the burden on the polling stations on Election Day. However, some states do not offer this option, and citizens are forced to vote either on Election Day itself or early through postal voting.
North Carolina was originally supposed to be the first state, but the legal process to remove Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s name from the ballot after he dropped out of the race delayed the early voting process.
