Walmart hosts secret sales with discounts up to 75%: where to look for discounted products

Items from the "secret" sale can be found at up to 75 percent off at Walmart, and some of them can be bought at lower prices than at Dollar Tree, reports TheSun.

TikTokers Spill_It_Mom helps thousands of subscribers regularly find great deals at Walmart, Dollar Tree, Target, and more.

And in a recent post, she showed nearly two dozen deals at Walmart, some of which are part of the store's "secret sale."

Spill_It_Mom went to Walmart knowing that many of the listed prices are higher than what they list on the app and at the checkout.

To get to the bottom of this, be sure to download the Walmart app and use it to scan the barcodes of every product you're interested in.

In addition, your savings can be even higher thanks to cashback programs. Basically, there are plenty of secret deals out there, but you need to know where to look.

The cheapest goods

The shopping guru first looked through Walmart's dollar stock section.

It turned out to be a good choice because she found the Cuisinart Dish Drying Mat and Plink Fizzy Drain Freshener and Cleaner on sale for $4,98 and its trash disposal equivalent for the same price.

Also, for just $2,88, she found a pack of three crockery hedgehogs, although she informed viewers that Dollar Tree has cheaper options.

“Always know the prices,” the blogger said. “Always compare prices on purchases if you want to save money.”

Holiday Items

Christmas is over, which could be the perfect time to stock up on holiday essentials ahead of time because retailers, including Walmart, are now trying to get them off the shelves.

The polished gold wreath hook originally cost $4,98, but is now only 72 cents due to the post-holiday sale.

Spill_It_Mom said they work great year round if you still want to hang decorations on your door.

Other 75% off items include Christmas candles, Christmas wax, and anything that will enhance the scent of your home.

“My sons birthday and my niece’s birthday is right after Christmas so I’m going to stock up,” said Spill_It_Mom.

There were also sales of festive pajama sets and bathrobes at affordable prices. In addition, there was a pair of white and gold tennis shoes in the shops that Spill_It_Mom had her eye on.

Since it was her size and they only cost $20, she decided to add them to her cart.

Walmart also has a variety of cheaper snacks, including Great Value Mini Pretzel Twists.

Another must-have snack for her family, Wild Berry Skittles, was available in the candy department and Spill_It_Mom made sure not to miss this offer. However, to get the most out of your Walmart shopping trip, you should consider cashback apps such as Ibotta.

Spill_It_Mom did just that to get an Ibotta discount that gives you $3,30 off two Febreze air products.

"Be sure to scan the products you take to make sure they qualify for the discount," Spill_It_Mom said.

She scanned the $4,08 Febreze replacement tips, but only paid $2,73 for both. The Clorox disinfectant mist is also covered by the Ibotta discount. The app lowers the price of the item by $2.

When it came to treats, Spill_It_Mom was looking for a special kind of dessert for her son's birthday: Pillsbury Orange Cinnamon Rolls.
Little Debbie Zebra sweets were only $2,58 per pack, and Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cake ice cream was also on sale.

“My little love just loves this ice cream,” said Spill_It_Mom.

Elsewhere, she opted for healthier options, including Chobani oat milk, which Ibotta gave a $1,50 discount.

“I love their oat milk,” Spill_It_Mom said. “This is what is most similar to regular milk.” But as always, be sure to read the ingredients to make sure you know what you're eating.

In total, the total bill for her purchases was $82,54. Some items, like the $1 washcloth, are actually cheaper than Dollar Tree.

That's why it's important to compare prices for each item to make sure you're getting the best deal.

Other ways to save

While bundling deals from apps like Ibotta is sure to net you significant savings on every purchase, there are plenty of other things you can do to save money when shopping at chains like Walmart.

First, always buy brand name products, not well-known brands.

This is said to save customers up to 30 percent.
