Won a song recording in the USA: Ukrainian singer won an international competition
Ukrainian singer Jerry Heil won the international music competition Djooky Music Awards. Singers from more than 100 countries took part in it. The publication told about this in more detail. "New Time".
Jerry Heil is the winner of the 2021 summer season. She could choose from two prizes: $ 20 thousand or a full cycle of work on songs at the Capitol Records studio in Los Angeles (California). The singer decided to choose a recording in the United States.
“I’m still in quiet shock from the victory. A few days ago I made it into the top 10 participants, but when I stopped advancing beyond eighth place, I mentally accepted the fact that I would lose. However, my fans did the impossible,” Jerry Heil wrote about her victory on Instagram.
The Djooky Music Awards competition was created in 2020. Its founders are Andrey Dakhovsky, who for many years was the official representative of Universal Music in Ukraine, and Brian Malouf, a producer who worked with Madonna, Queen, and Michael Jackson.
The competition is held once a quarter, participants register their songs on the platform, for which users must vote. For all the time, more than 13 thousand musicians from 125 countries took part in the Djooky Music Awards.
Jerry Heil, real name Yana Shemaeva, is a Ukrainian singer and songwriter. She became famous as a video blogger and cover singer due to the fact that she sang covers of songs by world and Ukrainian performers. The original song “Security, Cancellation” from her debut studio album “I am Yana” brought her great popularity.
Since 2012, Jerry Heil has filmed and published a variety of videos ranging from conversation videos and blogs to music covers. She covered songs of famous Ukrainian and foreign performers Okean Elzy, The Hardkiss, Twenty One Pilots, Kodaline, Imagine Dragons and others. The leader of Okean Elza, Svyatoslav Vakarchuk, has repeatedly published her covers of the group's songs on his pages on social networks.
The singer writes texts on social topics, about her personal life experiences, the stories of other people and the world around her. She describes her genre as "household pop"
