You can get up to $5000 in compensation if you used Maxim Healthcare Services: how to apply

Americans can apply for a maximum of $5000 in a class action lawsuit. Maxim Healthcare Services has agreed to pay for data breach claims in 2020. How to get money, said the publication The Sun.

The plaintiffs in the class action stated that Maxim did not protect the information during the cyberattack.

The complaint alleges that the perpetrators gained access to some of Maxim's mailboxes by gaining personal and medical information.

In addition, the lawsuit alleges that Maxim could have prevented the infringement by using appropriate cybersecurity measures.

Maxim denies any wrongdoing.

Who can get money

If you were affected, you should have received an email with a class action lawsuit notice.

You are included in the settlement because your information may have been compromised in a data breach on or about November 4, 2020.

If you're not sure if you're included in the settlement, or if you have any other questions, call 833-630-8181.

You should know that

• June 23, 2023 – deadline for objection
• July 24, 2023 is the deadline for submitting a valid claim form for settlement payment.
• July 28, 2023 - Final hearing to approve settlement agreement with Maxim Healthcare Services.

How much will you get

The settlement agreement provides for a fixed monetary compensation of up to $5000 for extraordinary expenses incurred as a result of the data breach.

Plus expenses for lost time up to three hours at $20 per hour - maximum $60.

Class action claimants who lived in California between October 1, 2020 and December 4, 2020 will receive approximately $100.

This amount may be combined with a claim for documented extraordinary expenses, but may not be combined with reimbursement for lost time.

You must submit a claim form and reasonable documentation showing that the data breach caused the expense in order to receive a refund.
