A volcano in Hawaii threatens a power station. VIDEO
The eruption of the Hawaiian volcano Kilauea interferes with the work of the local geothermal power station. The station had to be closed, writes The Guardian.
At night, the crews worked to close the last 11 tank, which provides about 25% of the island’s energy. Volcanic lava was in 200-300 yards from the nearest station tank.
Power station tanks operate underground at a depth of 6000-8000 ft (1829-2 438 m).
Recall that as a result of a volcanic eruption, about 2 thousands of people were evacuated.
