Doctors mistakenly removed both kidneys to the patient and deprived her of life
A resident of Colorado died because of the mistakes of doctors. The woman was misdiagnosed and had two kidneys removed.
73-year-old Linda Woolley from Englewood went to hospital in March 2018, with suspected cancer. In May, a woman was operated on and two kidneys were removed. Only after medical care was rendered, did the doctors admit an error - the patient had no signs of a malignant organ tumor.
According to Woolley, after the operation, her life turned into torture. “They owed me a kidney, I have no doubt about that,” she said in an interview with 2018 of the year, after which she hired a lawyer to defend her rights.
In November 2018, the woman expressed the hope that as a result, doctors would be able to implant a healthy kidney on her. Woolley also wished to give her story wide publicity to prevent similar incidents in the future.
She advised all patients to undergo a double check for the presence of the disease. “It scares me that a person has no choice when he is in the hospital,” said Woolley then. “He only hopes that he will be given proper help.”
Linda Woolley died on Friday, February 1, eight months after surgery.
