Near Korea, they found a sunken Russian ship with 200 tons of gold on board

In the South Korean intelligence agency Shinil Group said that their experts discovered a Russian armored cruiser ship that sank more than a century ago and is rumored to have a huge amount of gold in the hull.

The group discovered the ship Dmitry Donskoy, with a capacity of 6200 tons, July 14 near the island Ulllun. The ship sank in the 1905 year in the Battle of Tsushima during the Russo-Japanese War, writes USA Today.

It is believed that the ship carried the gold used by the Russians to finance the war, along with other riches belonging to Tsar Nicholas II. According to Shinil Group estimates, the ship can hold up to 200 tons of gold bullion and coins, which today cost over 130 billions of dollars.

Some Russian scientists questioned this claim, stating that it is unlikely that so much wealth could be stored on one ship.

Representatives of the group said that the ship was badly damaged by shelling, but the ship's deck was well preserved. The research team found a large number of iron boxes in the stern, which they will try to save.

Shinil Group has yet to formally request the right to lift the find, which requires a deposit of 10% of its value. This means that the company must contribute over 13 billion dollars.

At the same time, the company said that it still found the ship, but not gold, so the Shinil Group believes that it should make a deposit in the amount of 1 million dollars.
