Parry responded evasively to pranksters about the prospects for lower coal prices for Ukraine, which recently, according to media reports, have increased significantly, emphasizing that coal exports are the responsibility of the Department of Commerce. Moreover, he advised obtaining official confirmation of information published in the press about allegedly unfair prices for American gas for Ukraine.

The pranksters also touched upon the topic of Nord Stream (a gas pipeline from Russia to Europe, bypassing Ukraine) in their conversation with Perry. According to Parry, American liquefied gas should go to Europe, not Russian pipeline gas. He noted that the United States is against this project and promises to give Ukraine more opportunities by providing its technologies.

He added that the administration of Donald Trump at the moment “widely supports” sanctions against Russia in particular and the efforts of Congress aimed at hindering the construction of the “Nord Stream”.

Perry noted that the US intends to attract representatives of gas and oil companies to Ukraine so that they can reduce the country's dependence on Russian energy resources.

At the same time, he added that in order to attract investors to the Ukrainian energy sector, Ukraine needs to reform it, making the processes in it transparent and understandable, as well as giving potential investors information about the geological features of the country, historical data on energy production in Ukraine.

Rick Perry also noted that the Kremlin’s intervention in the US energy systems is still unconfirmed for him, saying that there are single people all over the world who are trying to penetrate foreign systems. Some of them are supported by the state, and some are ordinary criminals, so Perry did not specifically blame Russia for hacking.

At the end of the conversation, prankkers announced the development by Ukraine of a new type of fuel, which is the personal invention of President Petro Poroshenko and is a mixture of moonshine and manure. Perry offered to try this biofuel himself during his planned visit to Ukraine in August 2017 of the year, to which he replied that this would be “the highlight of the visit.”
