He threatened to blow up the bridge: a man trying to arrange a terrorist attack paralyzed the movement in Kiev

In Kyiv, a resident of Simferopol mined the Metro bridge and fired from a machine gun, his motives are unknown. As a result of the special operation, the man was detained. He writes about this “theBabel".

On 18 of September, a man tied with the Ukrainian flag stopped on the bridge in an Opel white car, he was armed - he was holding a machine gun and firing warning shots into the air.

“In the middle of the Metro bridge there is a white car, in it is a man in camouflage and a blue beret, possibly with a carbine. He reported that the bridge and cars are mined. He shot into the air from a weapon, ”an unnamed source said.

The man turned out to be a 42-year-old native of Foros (Crimea), his name is Alexey Belko. Representatives of law enforcement agencies said that in June 2019, he voluntarily handed over 1 kg of explosives and 88 rounds of ammunition to the Desnyansky district police department of Kyiv. According to him, he found them “in a safe in a village in the Chernihiv region.”

Police had to block the Metro bridge on both sides and call the bomb engineers. The actions of the man were qualified as preparation for the attack.

“A special operation is taking place on the Metro Bridge. Explosive units, KORD, patrol police, investigative and operational group, rescuers and national guardsmen are working,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported.

During a special operation, an armored personnel carrier was brought to the bridge, and local media outlets noticed a sniper. Law enforcement agencies were negotiating with a terrorist, as a result of which a special operation began.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko was also at the scene. He said that Belko was hit by a quadrocopter, which allegedly fixed his face. In addition, the head of the capital said that Belko was in an inadequate state - "either in alcohol or in drug intoxication."

After more than an 4-hour special operation, Belko was detained.

“By the joint efforts of the special forces KORD and Alpha, the man was detained,” a law enforcement source said.

Alexey Belko is a member of the anti-terrorist operation and filed a request for a land plot. He had the rank of senior sergeant, held the post of head of the radio station of the radio center of the field communications center of the military unit A3628, located in Brovary, Kiev region.

On June 26, the court found Belko guilty of unauthorized abandonment of the military unit, sentencing him to an arrest with detention in a guardhouse for a period of 7 days.

The police searched his house, but what they found there is still unknown.

In addition, the Kiev Metro communal enterprise also announced the mining of a section of the red metro line from Darnitsa station to Khreshchatyk.
