Hearse hijacked during funeral

New York police have detained a man who stole a hearse during a funeral.

28-year-old Michael Heeling on Wednesday, near the Catholic Church of St. Michael, located on Washington Street in Buffalo, sat behind the wheel of an empty hearse and disappeared. Police were able to detain the hijacker 20 kilometers from the church.

Joe Brown, who lost his father, said that he was going to take out the coffin after the funeral, but found out that the hearse was gone. Everyone had to wait thirty minutes for the funeral home to push another hearse.

“It’s disgusting,” Brown said.

Locals consider the incident something incredible. They cannot understand the motive of the crime, because the machine is extremely specific and cannot be sold on eBay.
