In Florida, a woman prevented a stranger's suicide by saying a couple of phrases
In Florida, a woman prevented a stranger from suicide by offering to hug him.
23-year-old Nicole Oyola from Clearwater told Fox 13 that when she turned onto the Howard-Franklin Bridge outside of Tampa, she noticed a man on the edge.
“I started talking to him,” Yola recalls. “I don’t know what you’re going through, but I love you, God loves you and everything will be fine.”
Oyola added that the man was about 20 years old, and initially she thought that he had stopped on the bridge because of problems with the car. Nicole called the police and the officer who arrived, first prayed with the man, before getting him off the bridge.
Oyola said that while talking to a man, he was overwhelmed with emotions.
“He looked at me and started crying. I told him, “I just want to hug you.” Then he came up to me from the other side of the bridge and I hugged him,” she said. “God has his own plans for everyone. I believe it, that's why I stopped. I just wanted to help him feel better. If the same thing happened to me, I would want someone to stop for me in the same way.”
