In Florida, a wounded girl saved a friend from a shark

In Florida, the 10-year-old girl saved a friend, despite the fact that she herself was attacked by a shark.

Kaylie Szarmak enjoyed a sunny day on the beach in Jacksonville, when a shark about a meter long bit her by the foot while surfing. After the attack, seeing a shark in the water, the girl immediately warned her friend who was nearby, her father said.

“Kaylee came out of the ocean and realized that her 6-year-old friend was still in the water. Then she turned and went back to pull the girl out of the water. It’s so touching,” he said. Kaylee was taken to the hospital with several large lacerations.

Kaylee is still recovering, but her father hopes his daughter will be able to get back in the water. “I’m so proud of her and I’m just grateful that she did this,” he said.

This year in Florida there is an increased activity of sharks.

28 June at Waves Beach in North Carolina shark attacked on a xnum-year old teenager. The guy was still alive, but injured his hands, legs and buttocks.

26 June shark attacked a 47-year-old male. It happened at the Avon pier in North Carolina. A man was swimming in the ocean, a shark bit him by the leg and behind his back.

Even earlier, an adult male suffered from a shark attack, and an 12-year-old girl and an 16-year-old guy shark bit off her hands.
